DommieGirl invited any interested parties to partake in a
challenge. We would be randomly be paired with another xangan and would then proceed to write a blog entry about them. I had the fortune of being partnered with
josiebunny. Being the blogging deviants we are, we decided to mix things up. Since we both enjoy writing poetry, we decided to write a poem incorporating each other's usernames (her spectacular idea). Without further ado, I present to you my poem (her username in
bold).
Summer of the Banjo Siestas
During the summer of banjo siestas,
a lone bunny dances a superfluous dance,
but a beautiful one all the same.
The rays of sunlight join her frolics,
pirouetting off of her captivating ginger coat,
mesmerizing even the hawks and the foxes,
lulling the woods into a contented harmony.
Enter the hills and the heat, the wind and the fields,
adding their own unique steps to the woodland ball,
to the rhythm of the back-porch twang that the banjos sang.
The field waves in the wind like an organic ocean of flora
as the invisible partner leads all the daisies in a soothing sway,
while the heat rising from the earth to return to the sky
leads the distant hills in a shimmering jig.
During the summer of banjo siestas,
a lone bunny dances a delightful dance,
chasing her tail in a carefree romp
in the intoxicating shine of the summertime.

:]
correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't siestas mean naps in spanish? so were you trying to the summer of the banjo naps? ...it really doesn't matter though because I thought it was really creative that you used those two words to make josie!
@Andraaaa - crap! you're right!
I was just looking through words that began with 'sie' and I suppose I was thinking 'fiesta'. Oh well, we'll just pretend it's a lazy lullaby sort of music...@overly_toasted_bread - I knew my 3 years of spanish education would come in handy some day! haha.. well, you pulled off the "lazy lullaby" very well!
